Club
Our goal as the Environmental Club in AIS is to increase and promote awareness of environmental issues and help students adopt and adapt the idea and philosophy of sustainable development into their daily lives at school and out of it. We campaign for the improvement of the environment through activities such as: planting trees, beautifying the school campus, and teaching recycling in school.
Accomplishments:
- Celebrated World Water Day through dances, songs and an exhibition on March 22, 2010
- Transformed a dry piece of land into a green , small garden May, 2010
- Souk El Tayyib exposition and environmental workshops May, 2010
- Participated in Bank Med competition (received certificate of Excellence and won 3rd place) April, 2011
- Celebrated Earth Day (One Student One Tree): planted trees in monastery in collaboration with Moubadarat and distributed about 120 trees to students June, 2011
- Participated in a UN poster Contest about World Water Day in March, 2011
- Valentine Recycle exposition February, 2012
- Did paper and plastic recycle project at school for a year with Sukleen 2011-2012
- Participated in the UNESCO Youth forum for Sustainable Peace and Development in Deir il Salib April, 2012
- Launched water competitions in school and with BGR a German company for the protection of water in Keserwan January, 2013
- Participated in the ASPnet online platform for sustainable development, June, 2013
